Young Member of Mohegan Tribe Directs Key Festival Production

Madeline Sayet, a young member of the Mohegan Tribe, is directing the flagship production of the Glimmerglass Festival in New York. The adaptation of The Magic Flute includes an "American Indian sensibility," The New York Times reports. James R. Oestrich, the paper's critic, praises Sayet and the production team for bringing a "magical" quality to the well-known German opera classic.
